2/20/2026 The SBFPD flag has been lowered to half-staff in honor of the lives of two important members of our community, Bruce Wachtell and Pinetree (Gary Marseilles).
Bruce was a longtime community member and a committed supporter of the Fire Department for many years.
Pinetree was a dedicated worker and a generous, creative personality who served many through his work and friendship.
Why are the SBFPD flags flown at half staff?
The Stinson Beach Fire Protection District flies its flags at half staff for:
Presidential or Gubernatorial orders
Memorial Day
Death of a member of the Stinson Beach Community
If you would like the flags be flown at Half Staff to honor the life of a community member, an immediate family member must make this request by writing to info@stinsonbeachfire.org.
Once the request has been made, the flag will be flown at half-staff for 4 days, and the name of the deceased will be posted here.
