10/3/2026 The Stinson Beach Fire Protection District has lowered it’s flags to half-staff in honor of the REACH Air Medical Services crew members and their patient who were killed Wednesday night when their helicopter went down off Catalina Island during a transport to the mainland.
Our thoughts are with the families, friends and the REACH coworkers who are going through this difficult time.
Why are the SBFPD flags flown at half staff?
The Stinson Beach Fire Protection District flies its flags at half staff for:
Presidential or Gubernatorial orders
Memorial Day
Death of a member of the Stinson Beach Community
If you would like the flags be flown at Half Staff to honor the life of a community member, an immediate family member must make this request by writing to info@stinsonbeachfire.org.
Once the request has been made, the flag will be flown at half-staff for 4 days, and the name of the deceased will be posted here.
