Board of Directors

The Stinson Beach Fire Protection District is governed by a five member Board of Directors. Board Directors are elected by the residents and serve four-year terms. Board members must live within the Fire District boundaries. The SBFPD Board of Directors meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Headquarters Fire Station located at 3410 Shoreline Hwy in Stinson Beach.

Elections

Fire District elections are managed by the Marin County Elections office. Board members are elected or re-elected every four years during the Uniform District Elections in November. The terms of office are four-year, staggered terms. SBFPD Board Directors must live within the District boundaries.

Reimbursement & Compensation Policy

Board members receive no compensation. There is no administrative reimbursement policy. Any reimbursement for expenditures is brought to the attention of the Board for their consideration. Meeting Schedule

Board of Director Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 6pm at the Stinson Beach Fire Station, 3410 Shoreline Hwy, Stinson Beach.

The public is encouraged to attend and participate in District Board Meetings. Members of the public wishing to speak can be added to the agenda for a specific meeting by calling the Board Secretary at (415) 868-0622.

Directors

James R. Ritchie (2016-2020) President Jim Ritchie has served on the Fire Board since 2015 and lives in the town. He is retired, having previously served terms with the Marin County Superior Court, several San Francisco law firms, and the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Stinson Beach Volunteer Fire Department for several years in the 1980s, before resigning, “to spend more time with his family.”

Robert Guidi (2016-2020) - Rob Guidi is a third generation Marin county native. He graduated from Sonoma State University with a Criminal Justice degree. After a 32 year career in law enforcement, he retired as the Chief Inspector for the Marin County District Attorney’s Office. Rob and his wife moved to Stinson Beach in 2011.

Jeffrey R. Walsh (2016-2020) Jeff Walsh has been a resident of Stinson Beach since 2003 and became a member of the Board in 2017. He practiced law in San Francisco beginning in 1971. He graduated from the University of Portland and the Georgetown University Law Center. He acquired fire fighting skills while serving in the U.S. Merchant Marine.

Mark White (2018-2022) For more than 15 years long time Stinson Beach resident Marcus White served the town as a postal clerk, or in his words, “the postal guy”. He was proud to serve as a volunteer firefighter and volunteer EMT for 25 years. He also serves on CSA 33, the local governing body of our Village Greens as well as being President of the Stinson Beach Historical Society.

Will Mitchell (2018-2022) Will Mitchell moved to Stinson Beach in 2014 to start a family with his wife who is a Third Generation Stinson Beacher. He joined the Board in 2018 and is also an active volunteer fire-fighter on the Department. He works in renewable energy development and holds a B.A. in philosophy from Roger Williams University.

Ethics & Training Certificates

Members of the Board of Directors have participated in ethics and sexual harassment prevention training. Requests for digital copies (PDFs) of the completion certificates for AB 1234 Ethics Training Compliance and AB 1666 Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for any of the directors can be submitted to the Stinson Beach Fire Department Administrative Office at info@stinsonbeachfire.org.
